Throwing Stones; John 8:2-12

There are times in our lives when we might have the authority and the opportunity to hurl stones because of someone else's transgressions. Perhaps, you've even been on the receiving end when someone threw stones at you because of something you did. But, is guilt or innocence for us to decide? Should we throw stones? Doctor Gainey shows us that throwing the stone that the builders rejected—Jesus, the corner stone—is the best answer.
John 8:3 (NIV) ~ The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group...

Move the Stones; Mark 16:1-8

We all have stones in our lives, obstacles that prevent us from succeeding. The key to moving the stones is in how we respond. Do we crack under the pressure, trying to move the stones on our own? Or, do we put our trust and faith in Jesus and, with His strength, push the stones aside and achieve our goals? In this very special Easter message, Doctor Gainey gives us three points to overcoming the stones—the obstacles—placed in front of us.
Mark 16:3 (NIV) ~ And they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”

Why do we call today Palm Sunday and what does it mean to those who believe? Doctor Gainey breaks it all down, outlining four key points for those who claim Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Matthew 21:8 (NIV) ~ A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

Victim to Victor; Acts 3:1-10

In life, we can be either a victim or we can be victorious. While you may not think you are good enough or talented enough, God can and will teach you, mold you, and use you for His glorious purpose. Doctor Gainey illustrates how putting your trust and hope in Jesus can lead to a victorious life in His service.
Acts 3:7 (NIV) ~ Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong.

Real Growing Worship - Part 2; John 4:21-26

In the second part of this two-part series, Doctor Gainey talks about what God gives us... access to Him at any time of the day, in any circumstance, and anywhere we happen to be. Real worship doesn't just take place in the church building; it takes place in our hearts.
John 4:24 (NIV) ~ "God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth."

The Hard Part of Loving; Romans 12:9-21

Loving someone who shows you love is easy. Showing someone love when they're in need is easy. There are those occasions, however, when showing love is challenging... maybe even impossible. Can you show love, for example, to someone who persecutes you or who you find reprehensible? Can you show love to someone who has grievously wronged you? On this Valentine's Day, Doctor Gainey challenges us to find the good in everyone, regardless of how challenging that might be, and show them love... the love only Jesus can place within us.
Romans 12:10 (NIV) ~ Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.

The Marks of a 5-Star Church; Romans 15:1-13

How do we know that we're doing our part as the body of Christ? In this powerful sermon, Doctor Gainey illustrated the characteristics of a 5-star church... a church that consistently and effectively carries out the mission that God gave to us. We are challenged—both personally and as a body—to measure ourselves against scripture and step up our loving witness to the community we serve.
Romans 15:2 (NIV) ~ Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up.

Stop Listening to Preachers (Part 2 of 2); Jeremiah 23:16-32

(Scroll down for Part 1) When we listen to preachers, we usually trust that their words are inspired by God and bring the truth of His message for us. In this second part of a two-part series, Doctor Gainey explains that it's important for us to recognize which preachers we should listen to and which ones—because their message isn't truly inspired by God—that we should walk away from and/or tune out.
Jeremiah 23:16a (NIV) ~ This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you..."

Breaking the Curse of the Sins of the Father; 2 Kings 18:1-7

We are all, in one way or another, affected by generational sin... that is, bad habits and characteristics we learned from our parents and family. Doctor Leroy Gainey demonstrates how to break the cycle and prevent those same sins being passed to our children. It's time for us all to say, "The buck stops here with me."
2 Kings 18:3 (NIV) ~ He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father David had done.
