Pastor Lawler spent the first week of 2002 driving cross-country with his wife, Sandie, and teenage daughters, Erin and Angel, to take up his new position as Pastor of Ministries at FBC, Vacaville. Prior to serving at First Baptist, Bobled the North Shore Baptist Church of Peabody, Massachusetts for nine years as their Pastor. An associate pastorate, a church planting endeavor, a Baptist Student Union directorship, and a preaching internship have all been part of Bob's ministry experience. Pastor Lawler graduated from The State University of New York and Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary with degrees in graphic design, divinity, and Christian education. Bob owned his own graphic design business, SteppingStone Creative Services, before receiving the call to a teaching and preaching ministry. Pastor Lawler describes himself as a "compassionate catalyst" and a "passionate teacher." Scriptural truth explained and applied in clear, compelling, and contemporary ways is the platform from which he launches his ministry. Bob's vision for his role at First Baptist is to be God's instrument for producing a highly educated and equipped church body that joyfully and effectively employs all its many gifts to expand God's Kingdom and exalt the Lord Jesus Christ.
