Worship is integral to everything we do at FBCVV. We are searching for a worship leader who is passionate about worshiping the Lord while leading a multi-cultural congregation in their pursuit of honest, open, and pure worship.

You must be energetic, highly motivated, musically gifted, and have the ability to lead/direct our band and choir, scheduling and leading rehearsals as well as leading worship on Sundays. Scroll down for a more complete job description.

Worship Leader Job Description

Job Title: Worship Leader

Reports to: Senior Pastor

Looking for: Part-time

Compensation: TBD

Job Summary:

The Worship Leader at First Baptist Church of Vacaville (FBCVV) coordinates with the Senior Pastor, schedules and directs rehearsals, and prepares the worship team for Sunday morning. During worship services, the Worship Leader directs the band and choir, driving a deep, meaningful, and passionate worship experience.

Qualifications:

This individual must continue to grow and mature in their faith so that he/she can model and mentor what that is to those around him/her.

General Qualifications:

  • Must be a born-again Christian.

  • Meeting the 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, and 1 Peter 5 qualifications for church leaders.

  • Commitment to First Baptist doctrine, vision, values, and beliefs.

  • Commitment to a team approach to ministry.

  • Relational style of leadership and ministry.

  • Joyful spirit and a humble servant heart.

  • Able to work without direct supervision.

  • Proficiency to lead worship both vocally and with a guitar and/or keyboard.

  • General availability to Senior Pastor and worship band volunteers.

  • Experience in leading worship in a contemporary setting preferred.

  • GED or High School Diploma required; continued education preferred.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Provide leadership, vision, and passion in the area of music worship ministries that is in line with the overall vision and mission of FBCVV. 

  • Take the lead in creating and implementing new worship opportunities which align with the mission and vision at FBCVV. 

  • Coordinate with the Senior Pastor to create well-planned and engaging Sunday worship services. 

  • This includes leading the Sunday Worship service and overseeing the worship team (vocalists and instrumentalists). 

  • Responsibilities include preparation for and leading rehearsals, as well as consulting with the Senior Pastor to coordinate the music for the Sunday service. 

  • Develop and administer an annual budget for the worship ministry in accordance with the financial policies of the church. 

  • If available, attend weekly staff meetings and participate in the planning and implementation of church programs that will fulfill the mission and vision of the church. If not available, coordinate a time for a weekly meeting with the Senior Pastor. 

  • Assist in planning, implementing and leading worship for special events outside of Sunday worship services. Based on availability.

Other Responsibilities:​

  • Work with the Senior Pastor and keep staff informed of any pertinent situations that arise regarding the worship ministry.

  • General pastoral responsibilities shared by the team and other duties as required.

It is anticipated that the duties associated with this position will take approximately 10 hours per week.​
